Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance is leading a coalition to reclassify schizophrenia as a neurological brain disease. Reclassification will give patients the proper education, protection, and comprehensive care they deserve and create more welcoming communities. To learn more about reclassification, click here.
I stand with Schizophrenia & Psychosis Action Alliance’s reclassification goals.
I want the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to include schizophrenia in the National Neurological Conditions Surveillance System (NNCSS).
I want the World Health Organization to reclassify schizophrenia as a neurological condition.
I pledge to become a Brain Health Advocate by changing my language from “behavioral disorder” or “mental disorder” to “brain disorder.”
I will educate others on brain disorders.
I will encourage my peers, family members, and colleagues to speak up when they see any discriminatory language or practices in the news or in public.
I will advocate that all brain disorders receive equal and comprehensive healthcare.
I will treat all people living with brain disorders with respect and compassion.
I want to learn more and stay involved through receiving newsletters and updates.
